I was awarded a sweet scholarship and will now have some cash burning a hole in my pocket. Help me decide how to spend it.
Currently live at home, work two well paying jobs, don't pay rent (though I do help out with purchases all the time, I'm not a total deadbeat), and have no expenses (last month the only charges to my credit card was $70 for phone, $200 for booze, and $200 for gas).
What should I buy car-wise? For those of you that don't know, I drive this mustang
It's got exhaust, intake, cams and a lowered suspension amongst other things. Looks unassuming but that's the way I likes it. I was originally saving for a supercharger but figured it'd be too excessive but now that I have more cash I'm debating between supercharging it, higher compression pistons, getting longtube headers, or selling it to buy a svt cobra.
The downside to supercharging it is it's be obviously an expensive option (around 8 grand), wouldn't help the value of my car by a lot, creates a lot heat, and possibly take away from my cars current phenomenal reliability.
The downside to the longtube headers are that I'd have to replace my great sounding custom midpipe to stay catted or else go disturbing-the-peace loud.
The downside to selling it is I'd have to sell it and I love this car too much to ever really want to do that.
I've got a short throw shifter on order and plan on tinting the windows a bit. What are some other mods my car could use? Should I pull off the typical mustang driver move and go offroad? Should I make my car into a tire scorching, boosted rocket? All opinions welcome.

Why not just wait a tad longer until the GT500 becomes cheap enough and sell your current Mustang. Let's say hypothetically you get 12k for the Mustang and the 8k for the supercharger would put you at 20k. Wait a little while and turn that money into a GT500

You got a scholarship and are still living at home while driving a nice Mustang? (Kudos on your ride BTW!) DO SPEND EVERY PENNY ON EDUCATION YOU ............ (enter swearwords to your own liking here)!
And this is coming from a teacher who lives in a country where education is free and doesn't put people in debt.

what kind of short shifter you ordered, well, check when installing it the issue of rattling. They say it stops with bearing grease on the joint. I haven't done it, im already very used to the annoying rattle of my shifter. But its totally fine, i love the looks of it. I suggest you get some Recaro seats. Your ideas are awesome but seems you're also concerned about the downsides of those.

I like the way you think. Are they that cheap already? I was looking a while back and they were hovering around 30 grand. Not impossible although Im hot for the svt at the moment.
I actually wish it was feasible for me to lend you some of this money for your first car. My dad helped me buy my first car and I helped my little bro buy his. It's a great thing to do for a gear head and heaven knows I don't need the money.

Oh no no no. I by no way meant for that post earlier to come out as a sob story. (I am kinda afraid it did.) I have a car and am financially sound I just felt like complaining about minimum wage jobs.
Back to the Shelby however I know some are asking 28k and there are a few for around 25k. Here is an example:

Nothing against the SVT idea but wouldn't it be great to own a car that was in some way influenced by the man himself?

hey thanks for the tip. Custom seats! I hadn't thought of that. Mine are the crummy stock plush ones so anything would be an improvement

great. Yes a seat makes a lot of difference even in normal driving.
